Chocolate Cloud Mousse Recipe

Delicious, fluffy chocolate cloud mousse.

Valentine The Teddy Bear has been excited about Valentine's Day and wondering what to make. Perhaps some chocolate mousse? I made up this recipe in high school and I'm sure that it's part of the reason my fiance stuck around. ;) (I made A LOT after we got engaged.) It's amazing and delicious. The texture and flavor is out of this world- light, fluffy, airy, and smooth. Plus it's so easy to make. It also can be used for all sorts of other things, I've made mint chocolate mousse pie from it, sweet cookie dip, and coffee whipped cream/flavoring.

Ingredients You'll Need:

4 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
2 Cups Chocolate Chips (of your choice, but my favorite is semi-sweet)
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract (or any flavor, depending if you're making mint-chocolate mousse or another type.)
1/4 Teaspoon Salt

Directions:

Take 4 cups of heavy whipping cream, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon salt and place in bowl.

Mix on high until it is thoroughly whipped. Meanwhile melt the chocolate chips. You can do it in the double boiler, but I usually use the microwave. Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.

Microwave for 30 seconds. Take out and stir thoroughly. Microwave for another 30 seconds. Stir more until the chocolate chips are very smooth.

Add the melted chocolate to the whipping cream. Mix until the mousse is as fluffy as a chocolate cloud.

Enjoy! It's amazing!

Try it as a cookie dip at a party (or Cupcake Fondue- an utterly brilliant idea from Hoosier Homemade.)

Chocolate cloud mousse cookie dip or cupcake fondue- yum!

Try it as a topping for coffee. It acts like whipped cream, but also adds an amazing flavor. (My husband said, "It's the best **** mocha you've ever made me." :) I highly recommend it- yum! :D)

Add chocolate cloud mousse to coffee to make the best mocha ever.
