Bacon-Wrapped Corn Dog Recipe

Barry The Teddy Bear Fluffiefriend is having a hard time waiting for spring carnivals to come! So he decided to make his own corn dogs. Might as well make a good thing better, right? Wrap the hot dog with bacon! Yuuuuuuuummmmmmmyyyyyyy!!!!!

Ingredients You'll Need:

1 Pack 8 Hot Dogs
8 Strips Of Precooked Bacon
7 Tablespoons Yellow Cornmeal
9 Tablespoons Flour
1/8 Teaspoon and Pinch of Salt
Pinch Black Pepper
Pinch Onion Powder
Pinch Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
2 Teaspoons White Sugar
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Milk
Grease or Oil
8 Chopsticks

/* Note: the directions will not follow exactly what you see in the pictures. I'm writing it with all the corrections to my errors so you don't make the same mistakes I did. ;) */

In a bowl mix 7 tablespoons yellow cornmeal, 9 tablespoons flour, 1/8 teaspoon and pinch of salt, pinch of black pepper, pinch of onion powder, pinch of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 2 teaspoons white sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder.

Mix dry ingredients together. Add 1 egg and 1/2 cup milk. Mix.

In a saucepan place 8 pieces of bacon and cook on high.

Now quickly, quickly, quickly wrap the bacon around the hot dogs before it crisps up and hardens. NOTE- hot bacon can burn you badly, so while I was lucky handling it, I HIGHLY recommend you find a way besides bare hands or keep Fluoride on hand. If any clever cooks or interested engineers have a better (safer) way to do this, please let me know.

Turn heat off (you don't want to add oil to a hot pan.) At around this time Barry got a brilliant idea- deep fried bacon!!!!! Gotta try it!

Keep bacon in place with toothpicks. Let sit for a moment to let the bacon harden and get tasty-crispy. Pour batter into a tall glass. Spin the bacon-covered hot dog in the glass.

Pour grease or oil into pan (grease from Fried Chicken) is amazing for this.

Test the oil heat by deep frying the bacon.

Deep-fried bacon- YUMMY!
Stick corn dogs in pan (don't do them all at once, as in the picture, make sure that they're lying flat so the batter doesn't drip off.)

Fry until it's a golden-brown.

Use up any extra batter by making more deep-fried bacon! Holy cow- the corn dogs are AMAZING! Yum yum! Enjoy! And what about that deep-fried bacon? Oh my dear heavens above- über tasty! I believe I have found the thing that will kill me. :)
