Savory Meat Pie Recipe

Zoe and Joey wanted to make a delicious, healthy meal! Savory Meat Pie is nice because once you have it down, one step follows the next fairly quickly and it makes a lot of delicious food. It's great for a family. (It's also great for just two, since it freezes well too!)

Ingredients You'll Need:

Pie Crust of your choice (this is My Favorite Flaky Crust)
1 Carrot
1 Potato
2 Pounds Chicken, Beef, or Turkey
1 Can Peas
1 Can Corn
1/2 Cup Milk
2 Cloves Garlic
1/4 Onion
2 Teaspoons Pepper
1 Tablespoon Salt (flavored salt is best)
1 Teaspoon Thyme
1 Teaspoon Sage
1 Teaspoon Rosemary
1/3 Cup Flour

Directions:

Have pie crust ready (I like to make 2 pie crusts then roll one up and put it in the fridge or freeze the other.)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Open can of peas and corn and pour juice into pot with 1/2 cup milk, 2 teaspoons pepper, and 1 tablespoon salt- put on medium-low heat.
Cube potato and place in pot.

Cube meat and add to pot.

Add 1 teaspoon of thyme, sage, and rosemary, 2 cloves of chopped garlic, and 1/4 chopped onion in pot. Cube carrot. Add carrot, peas, and corn.
Once everything was cooked turn heat on low and add 1/3 cup flour. Place into pie crust and cover.
(If you have any extras then you can Freeze it as yummy stew!) Cook in oven for 25 minutes, or until the crust is golden-brown.
