Fresh Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe

The strawberries have been amazing this year, so what would be better than some fresh, creamy, delicious, homemade strawberry ice cream? The ice cream in the stores ain't got nothin' on this. It's so good that the first batch I made I ate the entire thing afterwords. Oops, but that just meant I had to make more! Cuddles The Turtle Fluffiefriend helped out.

Ingredients You'll Need:

1 Cup Fresh Strawberries, Chopped
1/4 Cup Sugar
1 1/2 Cups Whole Milk
1 1/2 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream

Directions:

I was inspired to make the ice cream when I was munching on some 5 Minute Jam so it's no surprise that they start the same way. Take 1/2 cup of fresh chopped strawberries and 1/4 cup sugar and heat in a pot until it's thick and gooey.

Turn the heat on low and add the whole milk and the heavy whipping cream. Let it simmer together for a couple minutes to really get the amazing flavor in.

Put in fridge an let the mixture cool. Once the strawberry mixture has cooled follow your ice cream maker's directions for making ice cream. When the cream has frozen and thickened some add the other 1/2 cup of fresh chopped strawberries.

Serve and really enjoy! It's so much creamy, strawberry deliciousness!
